"Prudence" Grey Mare Pony Club Pony

Holloway Prudence is by the Connemara stallion Glencarrig Tempest, out of a Caspian mare. We would love to have kept her to produce her further, but owner/rider pregnancy have meant that this is not possible.

She is bold, friendly and well handled, good with farrier, loads and travel well. She has had her teeth checked and rasped with no issues found. Fully vaccinated against flu and tetanus.

Prudence was backed in summer 2025 as a 3yo, then turned away until May 2026, when she was reintroduced to riding work in under a week and was trotting and cantering around a field under saddle in no time at all! The intention was to keep her in work and produce her further over the summer, but personal circumstances made this impossible. She has been ridden on a handful of further occasions since, always behaving perfectly and picking up where she left off.

Last year, Prudence had a lump removed from her hind leg, leaving a resulting scar which does not affect her in any way.

We feel that she is a fantastic prospect for someone, as she is ready to crack straight on with her ridden career. Whilst she is of course still green, she is further on in her education than our other ponies and has been introduced to basic schooling.

Her sire Glencarrig Tempest is a striking, athletic stamp of a Connemara with an excellent performance pedigree. He is fully graded with the Sports Pony Studbook and has been used on many impressive horse and pony mares due to the quality of his progeny. His full brother Glencarrig Dolphin competed with huge success in FEI and BE events, and jumped double clear for GB at the Pony Eventing Europeans at Strzegom in 2022.

Prudence's dam Bytham Parimetta was our foundation Caspian mare. She was backed very easily and really enjoyed being ridden, but became a broodmare as her Caspian bloodlines were very endangered. Although all now in breeding programs, her older progeny have all been backed and proved extremely straightforward under saddle. Parimetta showed great scope and ability over a fence when loose jumped and so far seems to have passed this on to all of her progeny.
