The Friday-Ad brand was born in 1975 by husband and wife Chris and Liz Kidger, who wanted to sell their car, but found no way to advertise it.
Chris's dad owned a print shop, so they started printing flyers. Soon people from their local community were posting hand-written notes through their letterbox to also advertise their goods and services. That's how the first ads were placed over 40 years ago!
This double sided flyer quickly grew into a 12-page publication, and the UK's first free classifieds paper was born. Today over 362,000 ads are placed online each week, attracting a total 2.3 million visitors per year.
Still a popular place to buy and sell used cars, but now evolved to be a site to find almost anything: from your local book club to antiques, furniture to bicycles a local job and much more. Friday-Ad is now also the home of local services so whether you're looking for music lessons, a mobile hairdresser, a fitness class or anything else, we're your go-to place! Friday-Ad is a free platform to advertise your business, charity, club, association or any services you want to offer, connecting you to the community!
