We are looking for an enthusiastic, easy-going Support Worker to spend time with a fun-loving and active 10-year-old boy with a great sense of humour. This role is focused on companionship, play, and helping him stay occupied. It might include helping him prepare a meal and cleaning up.

Hours:
• Up to 7 hours per week Saturday or Sunday during term time, couple hours after school.
• During school holidays, approximately 12 hours per week, very flexible (discussion welcome)
• Hours are very flexible and can vary week to week

About:
He loves going on outings such as swimming, bowling, trampolining or badminton etc. He also enjoys cooking and baking and having fun. He is fully mobile and communicates verbally. He has a speech and language difficulty, so patience, encouragement, and a calm approach are important.

The Role:
• Supporting him with active play and outings
• Playing games and engaging in activities at home
• Encouraging independence and carrying out life skills
• Occasionally helping with light household tasks (such as hoovering or wiping down the kitchen) if he is resting or watching his tablet
• Occasional driving may be required to take him further afield (reimbursed at standard 45p per mile)

About You:
• Enthusiastic, relaxed, and confident using your initiative
• Patient and encouraging, especially with communication
• Personal or professional experience with SEN is preferred, but not essential
• Happy to work in a family home with two cats
