Hours: 5 hours per week (initially 3 hours PA support and 2 hours cleaning support) – afternoon is better.

We are seeking a kind, reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant to support Cath, who is living with later-stage Alzheimer's disease, in her own home in Horley.

This rewarding role would suit someone with experience supporting people living with dementia and who is confident providing personal care and assistance with day-to-day living.

About the Role
Cath enjoys getting out of the house for a walk or a drive and would benefit from support from someone who can provide companionship as well as practical assistance.
Duties will include:
• Personal care support, including assistance with dressing, bathing/showering and oral hygiene
• Supporting Cath with meal preparation and eating meals
• Prompting and assisting with medication
• Light household duties and cleaning
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Supporting safe community access, including walks and outings

About You
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a good understanding of Alzheimer's disease, particularly the later stages
• Be patient, caring and respectful
• Be comfortable assisting with all aspects of personal care and daily living
• Be reliable and trustworthy
• Be willing to support both at home and on occasional outings

Additional Information
• There is a friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the home, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs.
• Hours are currently 5 per week, comprising 3 hours of Personal Assistant support and 2 hours of cleaning support. There will be the opportunity for additional hours if the right person is found, and more hours are wanted.
