1. £20.00 per hour, Monday to Friday (before 10:00pm)
2. £25.00 per hour, weekends, Bank Holidays and after 10:00pm on weekdays

1. 2 hours every Friday evening (6:00pm to 8:00pm) from July 2026 to approximately February 2027
2. Up to an additional 8 hours per week during college holidays, mainly Monday to Thursday evenings (6:00pm to 8:00pm)
3. Occasional additional weekend evening "babysitting" opportunities
4. Approximately 10 hours per week available during non-term time

About the Role
We are seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Personal Assistant (PA) to support our friendly 21-year-old son in our family home in Reigate.

Our son has cerebral palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. He is deaf and wears bilateral cochlear implants, which enable him to hear. He understands everything happening around him, enjoys social interaction and has a great sense of humour. He is non-verbal and communicates using an eye-gaze computer.

He attends Treloar's College in Alton on a weekly boarding basis during term time and returns home at weekends and during college holidays. We are looking for a PA to provide support during these times, primarily in the evenings.

Duties will include:
1. Assisting with eating and drinking
2. Supporting with personal care routines
3. Helping with toileting, washing and showering
4. Assisting with dressing and bedtime routines
5. Using a ceiling hoist for transfers
6. Supporting safe use of his powered wheelchair around the home
7. Providing companionship and support with leisure activities
8. Occasional evening sitting/babysitting support while parents are out
9. Supporting short local outings on foot where appropriate

About Our Son
In his spare time, he enjoys:
1. Using his eye-gaze computer to access the internet, emails, WhatsApp and apps
2. Watching television
3. Playing Xbox and Nintendo Switch using an adapted controller
4. Driving his powered wheelchair in the park
5. Trips to the cinema and local shops
He enjoys routine but can be flexible when plans change, provided he is kept informed.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has experience supporting disabled adults or young people, ideally people with cerebral palsy
2. Is confident providing personal care
3. Has manual handling training or experience
4. Is comfortable using a ceiling hoist
5. Can safely manoeuvre a powered wheelchair
6. Is patient, dependable and compassionate
7. Can work independently within a family home environment
8. Has excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Full training in our son's routines will be provided.

Please note that support is only required when our son is at home. There will be periods when no support is required due to family holidays, and advance notice will always be given.
