Description

Hi, here is my very rare Sony 21" Monitor, which was bought new by me 25 years ago at a cost of almost £1000, which was a LOT of money in those days (and still is!). I was a Pro Photographer and needed the best money could buy. Although there was a Sony widescreen version of this, at £1500, and an Eizo with this tube for a similar amount! This monitor had/has the best/tightest/smallest pixel pitch of any monitor, at just 0.22mm, which gives incredible detail.

The pics showing images were (wrongly) taken when the screen was set to 768, before I realised and changed it to 1080, but maximum attainable resolution with a better GPU is 1600x1200.

I noticed some very small 'smudges' on the screen, which I've tried to show in the pics, which seem to be from, maybe, a cough or sneeze, but they did not come off when I used the Sony recommended method of distilled water and microfibre cloth. I did not want to use anything more aggressive for fear of marking or damaging the screen. Therefore I have taken this into account with the price. These marks cannot be seen in normal viewing, only when there is a plain screen/image, as shown. The line across the image in one of those is from the camera picking up the scan lines during the picture taking process, and is not a fault.

The only mark on the casework is a small scratch on the top/left corner, as shown, otherwise it's blemish free.

It has a built in USB Hub, with one up and four down. Connections are D-Sub or BNC, switchable on the front control panel.

I used it for c8yrs before changing to a larger widescreen LCD monitor, and this has been sat at the bottom of my wardrobe ever since - until I discovered it's rarity and scarcity value!

It is very heavy, at 30kgs, so it's collection only (or free local delivery), as the very large palleted box has long gone, but I do have the owners manual. Viewing before you buy is a possibility.
