PURE BREED APRICOT INDIAN RUNNER DUCKLINGS, DUCKS AND DRAKES

At Dovecote Farm, we don't do large numbers, we don't do factory type production, and as we concentrate purely on Apricot runner ducks there is no possibility of cross breeds !

We do however raise what we believe to be some of the best Indian Runner ducks in the UK - We only hatch in small numbers, typically 15 or so at a time, all hand reared and cared for in those small groups.

All of our birds are from unrelated, exhibition quality parents that have our entire farm to roam free over - happy ducks mean happy (and healthy) ducklings

They make ideal pets, with their large eggs perfect for baking, and tasting almost identical to chicken eggs

You will find no better solution to keeping the garden slug and bug free - it is literally what they were bred to do - and all of this without the destructive digging of chickens!

For the welfare and health of the ducklings, unlike some "factory farms" we choose not to hatch during the colder winter months, and we do not rehome our ducklings until we are certain they are healthy and ready, usually from around 4 weeks old

At this age of around 4-6 weeks, it is an ideal time to train them and get the accustomed to their new homes and families.

As we are one of the very few breeders of Apricot runners in the UK, our ducklings are in very high demand, so are generally homed at this younger age, so we may not have the older, sexed juvenile birds available.

They do not require any additional heat, or specialist duckling food - they are suitable to be housed outdoors, and fed on normal DUCK & GOOSE feed.

If any birds remain from each hatch, our ducks are available as sexed normally from around 12 weeks old and a good decision as to their sex can be made, and they can be sold as Sexed birds.

WE ARE LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE OF CHEPSTOW, A FEW MINUTES FROM THE M4/M5 MOTORWAY JUNCTION SO EASILY ACCESSIBLE

For collection, please bring some suitably sized boxes or carriers to transport the birds - Dark boxes are best, allowing the ducks to settle and relax during the journey.
