Pashley/Cresswell Tri-1 Electric Tricycle e bike

Here is my red Pashley Tri-1 tricycle (actually made by Cresswell before they were bought by Pashley). It has been converted to electric power, with torque sensitive pedal assist and a thumb throttle for when you don't feel like pedalling.

The motor is a 48v 500w Tongsheng TSDZ2 mid drive unit and the battery is 11.6Ah.

It has been stored in the shed unused for a while so I tested it to see how the range is now. On a full charge I rode 21.7 miles on the flat just using the thumb throttle, i.e. no pedalling, cruising at around 15mph. After this the battery had 1 bar left out of 6 but the trike was still going strong and made it up the steep hill to home no problem and with no pedalling.

It's great fun to ride, the torque sensor detects how hard you are pressing on the pedals so it feels like you have bionic legs! Very little pedal pressure is needed to get it going - and with the thumb throttle you don't even need to pedal!
