Much-Loved 17.2hh Schoolmaster Available for Full Loan

**Full Loan for 6–12 Months **

**17.2hh Zangersheide-bred Warmblood Gelding, 19 years old**

**Peacehaven, East Sussex – option to move to an approved home**

This is an incredibly hard decision. Bear means the world to me, but following my injuries, I haven’t been able to give him the time and exercise he deserves. I want him to have the best care, regular exercise and the attention and companionship he enjoys.

Bear is family to me. He is not a commodity, and I’m looking for someone who will value him for who he is, build a relationship with him and love and care for him as their own.

He is a dark brown, 17.2hh Zangersheide-bred gelding, by Captain Celano Z, with a gentle, kind temperament. A lovely soul who is adored by everyone at his yard.

**What he enjoys**

• **Hacking:** A pleasure to ride out, good in company, generally sensible and settled in traffic.

• **Schooling:** A lovely schoolmaster with a background in dressage and showjumping. He has benefited from natural horsemanship training and work with an equine biomechanics specialist, and has plenty to teach a sympathetic rider.

Bear is sound, although he has had a quieter few months while I’ve been unable to ride. His exercise will therefore need to be built back up gradually and thoughtfully.

**His ideal person**

An experienced, confident rider—ideally on the taller side given his size—with a gentle, patient approach.

Natural horsemanship is important to me. I’m looking for someone who will continue that approach, listen to Bear and work with him thoughtfully, respecting his confidence, comfort and wellbeing. His experience should be appreciated, with a varied workload suited to his age.

Above all, I want someone who enjoys the relationship and everyday care as much as the riding.

**Loan arrangements**

• **Duration:** An initial 6–12 months, with any extension agreed together.

• **Location:** Bear may move to a suitable, approved yard or private home within reasonable travelling distance of Peacehaven, so I can remain involved and visit regularly. I would want to meet you and visit the proposed home beforehand to discuss his care and routine.

• **Costs:** The loaner would be responsible for his ongoing keep and care, with details agreed in advance.

• **Contact:** Regular updates and visits by arrangement are essential.

• **Checks and agreement:** Home checks, verified references and a formal signed loan agreement will be required before he moves. He will remain my property throughout the loan and must not be sold, gifted, sub loaned or moved to another yard without my written consent.

If you feel you could offer Bear the care and home he deserves, please message me with a little about yourself, your riding and horse-care experience, and where he would be kept.

The right person and home matter far more to me than finding someone quickly.

**Contact: Dawn – please message in the first instance.**
