Description

1971 MGB Roadster 2+2 Conversion – 1798cc B-Series Gold Seal replacement engine, 1,983 miles, manual, petrol.

1971 MGB Roadster finished in Primrose Yellow with black interior and black folding hood.

This is an unusual MGB which has been professionally converted to a 2+2 configuration, providing a rear bench seat behind the two front seats. Information within the history supplied with the car identifies this as a Befour conversion, with approximately 20 examples understood to have been produced.

The car is powered by a 1798cc B-Series **Gold Seal replacement engine**, engine number **48G755ES 41668**, with twin SU carburettors and a manual gearbox. The 48G755 engine prefix identifies it as a Gold Seal replacement unit.

The car is fitted with chrome bumpers, chrome wire wheels, a wood-rim steering wheel and black interior with the additional rear seating incorporated as part of the 2+2 conversion.

A substantial history file accompanies the car, containing invoices, older paperwork and photographs relating to the vehicle and its conversion. According to the history supplied, a previous owner kept the MG for over 35 years.

The paperwork records recommissioning work carried out in 2023, including a new clutch, refurbishment of the front crossmember, work to the front braking system and electronic ignition.

The car presents well for its age but is not being described as a concours example. There are various age-related marks and imperfections to the paintwork, including some crazing and colour variation, together with normal wear to the interior. Please study the photographs or arrange a viewing to satisfy yourself as to its condition.

The distinctive registration **5312 MG** is included with the vehicle.

As a 1971 historic vehicle, the car is MOT exempt.

Please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a viewing. We are available 7 days a week by appointment only.
