Magneplanar 1.7i Panel Speakers

Here are my lovely 1.7i's, bought new by me 4 years ago for £3000 and are in an unmarked condition. I have the original box, packing materials, owners manual and warranty sheet, and all supplied accessories. The brown 'packing tape' on the front of the feet were/are to disguise them on my brown(ish) floor.

I have removed the awful steel binding posts and replaced them with 'proper' pieces which are made from Beryllium Copper (£100 per set) and I have also removed the steel jumper posts, and their connections, which are used for inserting the 1Ω resistors (included) if you should feel the need to reduce the treble output, which, I guarantee, you won't want to do. Those removed steel binding posts are also included, if you with to return the speakers to a standard condition.

The change to proper binding posts and removing the 'jumper' circuit has made a large and worthwhile improvement in sound quality (the jumpers, also included, are also Steel!) .

Although I have the original box and packaging, I prefer these to be collection only, due to their weight and delicate nature. They are perfectly functional and work as they should with absolutely no issues whatsoever. I will ship, at your expense and risk, if you want to arrange your own courier.

In Sound & Vision Magazine, the 1.7i was praised for its airy transparency and uncanny ability to present vocals and spatial imaging with “effortless naturalness,” blending the panel’s clarity with punch in the bass region.

According to Secrets of Home Theatre & High Fidelity, the Magneplanar 1.7i offered exceptional midrange purity and texture, with surprisingly tight low-end control given it’s a quasi-open-baffle design.
