Piglet 🤍

We’ve owned Piglet for about a year now and she has really become one of the family.

We bought her as a lead rein pony for our 5 year old daughter and she has done her job to the point that we have moved on to a FYFR.

Unfortunately Piglet is not a first ridden, she can have the odd spook and takes her confidence from her rider or handler.

Piglet loves her routines, she’s great to catch and will whinny when she sees your car pull up. She thrives off either an individual turnout next to other horses or small herd turnout, never had laminitis, although we do keep her on restricted grazing due to her breed.

Piglet enjoys her creature comforts, she is stabled overnight in winter, and we bring her in during the day for a few hours in the summer for a break from the flies and the grass! She wouldn’t need to follow the same summer routine if there was adequate shelter and shade in the field, but I would want her stabled overnight in winter.

She enjoys a good groom and a bath, and will always come over for a fuss. She is really affectionate once she gets to know you. She can take sometime to settle so any new home would need to be aware of that.

Piglet likes to hack, she will school but to be honest we haven’t done much in the school with her, she has beautiful movement and would excel in the show ring ridden or in-hand. She does not like jumping and I don’t want her being pushed to jump as it just isn’t her thing at all.

In her previous home she was ridden by a 10 year old and did fun rides, local shows and pony club etc, she would thrive with an older more confident child as she has lots still to give. Alternatively, she would also enjoy being a companion pony/lead rein pony, she just loves human connection.

Piglet is always barefoot, she has never been shod, all her vaccinations and worming is up to date.

She is available on a long term loan to the right home. References and home check required, written contract will be in place. Loan home within 80mile radius Max.

It has taken me a long time to write this advert, so please no time wasters as this is hard enough as it is.
