Description

Jack is a 15.3/16hh ISH who has been in our family for the last 15 years. He was competed successfully by my older sister before becoming my horse, and I've had the privilege of riding him since I was a toddler. He is now totally retired and solely used for happy hacking. His age is not limiting - he’s got plenty of gas in the tank.

He has the most wonderful temperament, he's kind, gentle and incredibly loving.

That said, Jack is not a novice ride.

We're looking for a competent, confident rider with solid horse experience. Jack is an ex-XC horse, and although he's now retired from competition, he still loves life. He can become excited when galloping across open fields or charging down country lanes, and he isn't afraid to have the occasional buck. He has never reared under saddle.

In the school he is an absolute pleasure — responsive, lovely armchair canter, and he always tries his best, even when it's difficult for him!

This is one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make, but as I'm heading off to university, I can no longer give Jack the time and consistency he deserves.

I'd prefer if he could stay at our stables at home, but I'm open to him moving to local places.

No fees, I only expect you to pay for the farrier, I'd like to keep my current one. Shoeing costs £100 every 6 weeks.

If you'd like to know more about him, please get in touch!
