Outline of Online Care Skills Course to become skilled

Healthcare Assistants (HCAS).

A blended learning approach to your training will give you a seamless transition in staff becoming competent in their

caring and support roles. It is both a time and cost-effective solution to your training and allows you to develop

competent skills. The training resources that are provided in this manual are part of a ‘Blended Learning’

programme supporting the underpinning knowledge and understanding gained by learners that have undertaken

and completed their online training with HCE for the following subjects:

Moving and Handling

Medication

Safeguarding Adults

Infection Control

Food Hygiene

Fire Safety

First Aid

Following completion of an online course, course participants are encouraged to attend in-class sessions and also

attend work experience placement with collaborating Nursing Homes. The current fee is £30 per student.
