A lovely, genuine older Gloucester Horseboxes 7.5T, with long-standing specialist maintenance history and currently undergoing a tasteful refresh of the living accommodation.

We purchased this horsebox intending to keep it, having been particularly reassured by its condition and maintenance. However we've found our horses are much happier in a smaller horsebox or trailer, so we've made the decision to downsize.

It has been completely reliable throughout our ownership and drove faultlessly from Exeter to Bridgend when we brought it home.

We're welcoming early enquiries now, ahead of the living-area refurbishment being completed and the horsebox being fully advertised.

The horse area is spacious and practical, with a full partition and good access from the loading ramp.

We understand that the ramp was relined around 2023, and we have been advised that both the loading ramp and horse area floor were routinely checked by Huish Horseboxes during their maintenance of the vehicle.

In the interests of complete transparency, the horse area floor shows age-related wear, as would reasonably be expected with a horsebox of this age.

🔧 SPECIALIST MAINTENANCE HISTORY

One of the strongest features of this horsebox is its long-standing history with Huish Horseboxes in Exeter.

We have been advised by Huish Horseboxes that they maintained the vehicle for many years, with computerised records dating back to 2016.

Prior to our purchase, Huish Horseboxes carried out an inspection in October 2025 and commented:

"The Cargo is in lovely condition for its age. The cab hasn't required any welding work. The chassis has had some welding around the rear axle area, which is all good. Mechanically it's very good as well – brakes, engine and gearbox all good."

Approximately £1,800 was subsequently invested prior to the last MOT.

We currently hold the paperwork relating to the October 2025 inspection and recent work. For a genuinely interested buyer, we're also happy to obtain a summary of the earlier computerised maintenance history held by Huish Horseboxes.

🏡 LIVING ACCOMMODATION

The living area is currently being refreshed to create a clean, modern and practical space, including updated cabinetry, worktops, flooring, sink and hob, seating and fresh décor throughout.

We bought this horsebox intending to keep it.

There is no mechanical reason behind our decision to sell – we've simply found that our horses are happier travelling in something smaller.

Rather than keep a 7.5T horsebox that no longer suits our needs, we've decided to downsize.

CONDITION

This is a 1990 horsebox, so prospective buyers should expect age-related signs of use consistent with its age.

We would much rather describe the horsebox openly and accurately than try to present an older vehicle as something it isn't.
