Utopia Supported Housing is an Ofsted regulated company that provides high standards of support. Due to this we are recruiting a General Maintenance Person to ensure we adhere to accommodation standards and ensure our homes are welcoming and homely for our young people.
The General Maintenance position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to maintain functionality, safety, and aesthetics within the premises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot various systems while providing excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance to the buildings, fixtures and fittings
- Painting, decorating, filling and wall maintenance
- Maintaining grounds, furniture and equipment
- Maintain files/records or maintenance and repair work
- Furniture building
- General knowledge of inspecting and maintaining plumbing, electrics, carpentry etc. within safe limits and understanding when a registered professional is required
- General maintenance audits and inspections
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements for the role:
Experience of general maintenance/construction/trade work
A full and clean driving licence, access to own vehicle is desirable
Access to own working tools desirable
Minimum required working age of 21 years

Schedule:
This is a zero hour contract ideal for a handy person who would like to work on their own schedule. We do need consistency and we would require the successful candidate to work each week however weekly hours can be flexible depending on candidate available and Utopia business needs. Working hours can be flexible and range between 08:00-22:00 however no loud works are to be conducted after 18:00. Working days can range between Monday-Sunday.

Work Location:
This position will cover at least 8 buildings across Hastings, Bexhill and Eastbourne and candidates must be able to work at any location.
