Unfortunately, the time has come for us to say goodbye to Freddy, our much-loved Fiat Ducato campervan.
Freddy has been part of some fantastic family adventures over the years. He’s taken us through France, Belgium and Germany, across to Ireland, and on wonderful holidays around the UK, including the Lake District and Peak District.
Sadly, our son has grown rather a lot over the last few years, and Freddy is now simply getting a little too small for us as a family. So, reluctantly, it’s time to find him a new home!
Freddy is a 2007 Fiat Ducato 2.3 Multijet long-wheelbase campervan with approximately 140,000 miles on the clock. He’s officially registered as a motor caravan and offers comfortable three-berth accommodation, ideal for couples or families looking for a well-equipped touring campervan.
Comfortable and Flexible Living Accommodation
One of Freddy’s best features is his clever layout, offering two separate living areas.
At the rear, twin upholstered bench seats provide a comfortable lounge during the day. At night, pull-out supports and infill cushions transform the space into a spacious double bed.
At the front, the swivelling passenger seat and extending seating create a separate single bed, making Freddy suitable for three people.
The front seating area also features a removable dining table, providing a practical space for meals.
There’s plenty of storage throughout, including overhead cupboards and useful under-seat compartments.
Fully Equipped Kitchen and Bathroom
Freddy has a proper fitted kitchen, including:
* Gas hob and oven
* Gas fridge
* Kitchen sink
* Cupboards and storage
There’s also a separate bathroom with a cassette toilet, washbasin and shower.
Electric hot water provides additional comfort when connected to a suitable mains electricity supply.
Heating, Solar and Electrical Equipment
Freddy is well equipped for touring, with:
* LPG-powered habitation heating
* Solar panel
* Separate leisure battery
* 230V mains electric hookup
* Electric hot water
* Dashboard air conditioning, professionally installed in 2018
* Car stereo with phone connectivity
The solar panel and leisure battery provide additional flexibility when staying away from campsites with electric hookups.
Fiamma Awning and Full Privacy Room
One of Freddy’s particularly useful extras is his Fiamma wind-out awning, complete with a full privacy room.
When assembled, the privacy room creates a substantial enclosed outdoor living space, effectively adding another room to the campervan.
It’s ideal for longer holidays, providing extra space for relaxing, eating or storing camping equipment.
We’ve found this especially useful on family holidays, giving us considerably more room when staying on campsites.
MOT and Maintenance
Freddy has an MOT valid until 29 September 2027.
He comes with a collection of maintenance records, including substantial mechanical work in 2019 involving the timing belt, clutch and engine, followed by a full service and habitation inspection in July 2021.
In September 2026, £911 was spent on structural welding, corrosion treatment and other MOT-related repairs.
The current MOT carries advisories concerning the front brake discs and nearside rear brake.
All available maintenance invoices and MOT records are available for inspection.
Freddy’s Next Adventure
Freddy has been a fantastic part of our family holidays, and we’ll genuinely be sorry to see him go.
He’s a practical, well-equipped campervan with a flexible layout, plenty of useful extras and lots of potential for more adventures.
We hope his next owners will enjoy exploring new places and making just as many happy memories as we have.
