Superb and very rare limited edition Eterna-matic wristwatch from 1997, commemorating Thor Heyerdahl's famous crossing of the Pacific ocean by balsa wood raft. The crew members were issued with Eterna watches for the trip, and to test their endurance, which not surprisingly they handled with ease. Stainless steel seamless case, with screwed-down locking crown and case back. Mint and unique silver/gilt Roman figures dial, with gold hands and unmarked sapphire crystal, with date 'cyclops' lens. Rapid date change function. Eterna 'in house' 25 jewel automatic, (self-winding) movement, with hack stop. Waterproof to 120 metres, or 400ft. Case size, Width: 37MM. Height: 44mm. Depth: 10mm.
