We first came across Golden Sash Ratio earlier in the year, after searching through a number of joineries. They were actually the last company we had book, and we almost cancelled the appointment as we were almost certain we had found a company locally that could take on the work. Our home is Edwardian, having moved in two years ago our existing windows were also wooden sash, however as they were original and single glazed our winters were freezing, our windows were also painted shut so we had no ventilation! One of the most important elements for us was finding a company that would retain the architectural integrity and heritage of our home, we wanted a like for like for whatever was going in. When Gentian came for his first visit, it was clear his passion, knowledge and expertise was obvious. He highlighted changes that had been made to the windows that weren’t original and offered creative solutions from suggesting additional architraves to lowering the window sil where it had been previously amended. Hoda, was excellent in offering her flare on design, choosing the right ironmongery and paint and being on hand (always) for any questions or guidance. The company values and prides itself on its integrity, passion and attention to detail – they genuinely want the best for their customers and work to ensure the work is completed to the highest of standards. They were very true to the timescales they implemented, and there was no variation from when they said the work will start to when it actually did. One of the standout elements we found important is that Golden Ratio is they work with the highest standards of material (Accoya), everything is hand made using traditional joinery methods which is in keeping with the heritage of the trade and by being sympathetic to the buildings they work with. Now the windows have been installed the biggest difference for us is how warm the house is now, we went from having the heating on all day to a few hours in the morning and again in the evening – the difference in heat retention is exceptional. The windows open seamlessly and are a joy to look at. I can’t thank Hoda, Gentian and their team enough. We have been inundated with compliments from our friends, family and neighbours and know the work they have completed for us will stand the test of time for decades to come.

We’re delighted with the work that Golden Ratio Sash Windows and Doors did for us. They completely replaced two windows in our Edwardian home - one large one and one smaller one. I have used Golden Ratio for two properties now and wanted to provide a review given how pleased I have been with the sash windows constructed and installed by Golden Ratio Windows Joiners. The windows attached show the front of my Victorian house in North London which GR reproduced the original sash windows and detailed joinery, but with a modern and robust finish. The detailing is very well done and accentuates the property nicely. The windows feel solid and well made, and the window furniture in particular feels good quality and works smoothly. Overall, the finish is excellent and the whole front of the house looks much better as a result. GR have always been easy to work with and have ensured that the installation meets the high standards of the windows. We have recommended Golden Ratio Windows Joiners to family and they have been happy with the custom windows (and door that was customed made too).

I recently had my sash windows replaced by Golden Ratio Joinery Ltd after speaking with Hoda, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
