I booked my international Shenzhen Airlines flights through TravelJunction. Everything seemed fine until my domestic flight from Siargao to Manila was cancelled, leaving me unable to reach Manila for my long-haul flight to London.
I initially spoke to TravelJunction by phone and was advised to accept a voluntary misconnection, which would have effectively waived my financial protection. When I asked them to put what they had told me on the phone in writing, they stopped responding entirely. Messages were left on read while I was stranded in a chaotic airport dealing with a time-critical situation.
When they eventually re-engaged, their position hadn’t changed: they refused to help unless I agreed to a voluntary misconnection, which would have left me to absorb all costs — despite the disruption being caused by an airline cancellation completely outside my control.
Shenzhen Airlines’ English support was effectively unreachable (the phone system was entirely in Mandarin and their inbox was full). TravelJunction were aware of this and still refused to contact the airline on my behalf or offer any practical assistance.
They later confirmed by email that they would do nothing because my domestic flight wasn’t booked through them.
Bottom line: once payment is taken, TravelJunction offers no real support when things go wrong.
If you expect a travel agent to actually help during disruption, book elsewhere.
