I am so thankful to have found Carrie at Paper Moon Bride. She altered my wedding dress, my evening dress and my mum’s MOB outfit perfectly for my wedding day back in May. Carrie is a master seamstress - my wedding dress had very thin straps and was made from pretty unforgiving material. Carrie knew how anxious I was about the final fit, especially around the bust, and worked tirelessly to come up with solutions and options for me. I trusted Carrie completely - she knew exactly how I wanted to look and feel. Carrie was kind and patient, and took me from tears of worry at the beginning, to tears of happiness at my final fitting. A total perfectionist, Carrie will not settle until it is exactly right. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paper Moon Bride to future brides in Chester and beyond. I had a vision of a bridal 2 piece but couldn’t find the waistcoat I wanted anywhere. I spoke to Carrie and she created exactly what I imagined. She was even able to track down the exact fabric of the trousers I’d already bought and make the waistcoat in the matching fabric. She also made the alterations to my wife’s dress which was stunning, the perfect fit! Carrie was absolutely incredible from start to finish and so lovely to work with, I would recommend Paper Moon to anyone needing bridal alterations or a custom made piece.

I cannot recommend Carrie at Paper Moon Bride highly enough. From our very first meeting, she was an absolute joy to work with and played such an important role in helping me feel my best on my wedding day. From the moment I arrived, Carrie made me feel special. She complimented my dress and was genuinely excited about it, which is remarkable when you consider she spends her days looking at beautiful wedding dresses. She has such a warm and reassuring way about her that immediately puts you at ease. So much so, we ended up talking about my proposal, and Carrie genuinely had tears in her eyes - that honestly made me feel so special, and realise how much Carrie cares about the brides she is working with. A bridal era is so short, it's lovely when people genuinely want to celebrate with you. What truly amazed me was her ability to take what was already the perfect off-the-peg dress and somehow make it even better. I went in with a few ideas of my own - I wanted the dress taken in to accentuate my shape a little more, particularly around the bum, and I needed a bustle added for the evening. The shoulders also needed adjusting. Carrie could easily have just followed my instructions, but instead she took the time to properly assess how the dress fitted my body and made additional recommendations based on her expertise. She suggested alterations around the hips to prevent the dress from riding up and ensure the hem worked perfectly with my shoes. These were things I never would have thought about myself, but they made all the difference. At my second fitting, I genuinely couldn't believe how well the dress fitted. It was hard to remember that it had originally been an off-the-peg sample because Carrie had transformed it into something that felt completely bespoke. It honestly looked and felt as though it had been made specifically for me. Carrie's attention to detail is incredible. She noticed tiny imperfections that I would never have spotted and made sure every one of them was addressed before my final fitting. When I finally took my dress home, I couldn't wait to wear it. In fact, it's almost sad that wedding dresses only get one outing! Carrie also saved me from a potential shoe disaster. I'd bought a pair that I absolutely loved, but they were slightly too high, meaning the dress no longer skimmed the floor properly. I was gutted. Thankfully, Carrie came to the rescue again and recommended an alternative pair from Zara that were surprisingly affordable. I bought them, and they ended up being absolutely perfect. What I appreciated most, though, was Carrie's honesty. I'd also purchased a pair of statement earrings that I wasn't completely sure about. My friends all told me they looked great, but Carrie gently and kindly explained that they were competing with the dress rather than complementing it. It was exactly the honest advice I needed. At my next fitting, I brought along a different pair, and Carrie immediately told me how beautifully they worked with the dress. That reassurance gave me so much confidence that I'd found the right finishing touches. Carrie has an incredible eye, an amazing level of skill, and a genuine passion for helping brides look and feel their best. I am so grateful I found her. She took an already beautiful dress and elevated it beyond anything I could have imagined, making it the true centrepiece of my wedding day. If you're looking for someone to alter your wedding dress, you simply could not be in better hands. Carrie is incredibly hard working, and will ensure you feel happy and confident on your wedding day.
