MoveStore Removals and Storage

The owner of this company attempted to deny the review below. We took Movestore to Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 2nd July 2026 . As far as the owners response is concerned “ recollections vary” .There was a hearing at which we were awarded a sum of money in compensation. That information can be verified as the hearing was noted on the public domain. Our warning to prospective customers is , if things go wrong using this company they go very wrong ! Mr McK keeps trying to deflect blame any reasonable person would ask, how did it get to Court ? Repeat customer experience shocking ! Repeat check Removal Claims Services on Trustpilot ! Everyone cannot be wrong ! This Company has a number of excellent reviews , however we had a terrible experience with them. Initially J . comes to provide a quote, he is personable and a good salesman. We decided to go with them ,despite not being the cheapest . When operations started we knew we were in for problems , they woefully underestimated the volume of stuff we had ( despite hugely reducing it from that viewed). The packing was disorganised , poorly undertaken and Andy their Foreman ( nice guy) nearly had a nervous breakdown on what he had to achieve with available resources. When our household contents were unpacked from storage and redelivered it was not only disorganised - it was chaos, with multiple valuable items badly damaged. Then the real problems started. C took over from James , they use a Company called Removal Claims Services to handle their claims. ( Check their reviews- really scary). They immediately engaged in trench warfare , invoices not good enough, receipts not good enough, repair quotes not good enough , dubious company who are not regulated by financial conduct authority- despite it being on their letter heading - misleading yes ! C from Movestore offered no help or support, his attitude was so immature and unbusinesslike we had no option but to take Movestore to Court on Point of Principal . C. showed his usual immaturity and fought it, however he was put in his place by the Sheriff at the hearing ! Our Experience of this Company was truly awful, made worse by a truly awful attitude to genuine complaints.

For our move from Edinburgh to London, I must have looked at like 12 different moving companies. From really more affordable ones (GBP1XXX) to what we ended up paying (GBP2XXX) for MoveStore (and even more expensive quotes). The range really is quite wild. We chose MoveStore in the end because James and Cameron have been consummate professionals in their communications. 5/5 stars, no complaint whatsoever. Responsive, clear, and thorough. I also appreciate their comprehensive and precise contract agreements which bought us peace of mind in case things go awry. Since we were moving so far away, it was a two day job. Honestly I don't have much to say other than the fact that the two lads (Ruairidh and his associate whose name i have unfortunately forgotten) were fantastic– friendly, careful, and efficient. MoveStore is definitely on the upper range of all the moving companies we looked at and we believe they are 100% worth it. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

MoveStore did an amazing job helping us move and made the whole process feel completely stress-free. Andy, Matt, and Eric made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. They were all super friendly, provided amazing service, and offered very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend MoveStore to anyone looking for a reliable removal company!

From emptying our flat to moving everything to the new house, it was so smooth and they finished soooo quickly in the afternoon that we were so impressed! The team was so well organized and professional with floor, matresses, furniture and picture covers. We also liked that we only had to do a video consultation instead of in person as it made it so much quicker! The price was also competitive. We would highly recommend them, the guys were fantastic! Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish from MoveStore. The team who helped my mum move were so professional, friendly and efficient and made the whole move feel easy and stress-free for my mum. Everything was handled with great care and nothing was too much trouble. Couldn’t recommend them more highly - thank you again!
