For years I have looked out of an office window dreaming about the day I can make a living doing something I love and it's finally happening. I am now the proud owner of Whinny & Woof, I am surrounded by either horses or dogs all day every day and I love every second of it!
I have had horses and dogs since I was a little girl, I now have one horse Coco and a little monster of a cocker spaniel, Kygo - he certainly keeps me and my other half on our toes!
Kygo is being trained as a Sussex search and rescue dog, it's a long programme but he is showing real potential. When he's not training he enjoys being my sidekick, he is thoroughly enjoying the fact I no longer have to leave him at home whilst I go to work! I love meeting new dogs and spending time with them learning about their individual personalities, I can't tell you how lucky I feel to be able to work with so many amazing dogs.
I have owned my horse Coco since she was a yearling, I have produced her over the years and she is now successfully competing at BE100 ODEs, she won her first Novice combined training event, a Novice ODE is our next target.
I regularly compete other peoples horses at BE100s, 90s and 80s and have also show jumped up to 1.20m. I have years of experience with horses, I am a confident and capable rider and regularly ride all different types of horses. I have worked with unbroken horses, racehorses, eventers, hunters, show jumpers and general allrounders. I have also ridden in a couple of point to point races which was an incredible experience but eventing is where my heart lies.
Every year after the thoroughbred sales I back and ride the racehorse yearlings at a pre-training yard in preparation for them to be sent to a trainer. It's certainly not the easiest journey, they like to test your ability and patience on a daily basis but it's worth every second when you see them at the races.
I have completed my Level 3 City & Guilds Dog Grooming Certification and have also undergone an animal first aid training course. I am also fully insured within the equine and canine world.
