Private music lessons

A bespoke music tutoring agency specialising in private music lessons and music scholarship support to British independent schools.

We support students across all ages, abilities and instruments, and deliver lessons in your home, at a studio or online.

Our classical music teachers are exclusively graduates of the world’s four leading conservatoires, with 56% holding a master’s degree and have on average 7 years’ teaching experience.

MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT

Led by Ralph Allwood MBE, ex-Director of Music at Eton College for 26 years, we're Britain's only music-specialist scholarship advisory service. Our teachers have supported 400+ students achieve music scholarships to leading British private schools.

I studied viola with Beatrice through Prelude Education and had a fantastic experience. She was incredibly helpful, supportive, and motivating throughout my lessons. As an adult returning to music, I really appreciated her clear guidance and encouragement. Prelude Education is also very well organized and consistently made sure everything ran smoothly. I absolutely recommend both Beatrice and Prelude Education to anyone who is just starting or picking up the viola again.

Miles and Ralph have been very supportive with my son. They are both hugely knowledgeable as well as being kind and genuinely interested in encouraging young musicians. I feel we have a helpful roadmap for next steps and also know that we can return for personalised top up advice as and when necessary. I'd highly recommend their service.

My daughter started violin lessons with Beatrice a few months ago and I cannot recommend Beatrice highly enough. She has the patience of a saint and is so dedicated and makes the class enjoyable and engaging for my boisterous 4 year old. Miles has been equally accommodating to our change in schedules and is very well informed with instruments and getting the right fit for my child. I have already recommended Prelude to several other parents and will continue to do so.

We could not be more grateful to have Mr. Gui as music teacher for our son . He is very professional, very kind, he has a great knowledge but also a natural attitude to teach . He finds joy in teaching and this reflects on our son’s commitment; he is finally playing again with enthusiasm and happiness , while progressing lesson after lesson. It is pure joy for us as parents listening to him playing. Definitely, with his knowledge and elegant manners, Mr. Gui represents Prelude Education in a way that has no comparison at all with our previous experience .
