Minister of religion needed
Position: Imam
Location: Bournemouth Jamei Mosque
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £11.50 per hour or minimum wage, whichever is higher
Weekly Hours: 30
Job Start Date: Immediately
Bournemouth Jamei Mosque is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Imam. This is a permanent position with a commitment of 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and deliver the Friday Congressional second prayer to worshipers
Assist the existing Imam in leading the compulsory daily prayers
Preach the sermon (Khutba) during assigned times
Organize and lead adult Quran classes
Run children’s Arabic and related Islamic studies for ages 6 to 16
Provide counseling to the youth of the community through moral education linked to Islam
Must be an Alim (a degree in Religious Studies)
Certification in Tajweed (Quran recitation)
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Islamic teachings and possess the ability to lead five times daily prayers, deliver Friday sermons, and lead children and adults in religious classes.
