Burghfield & Mortimer Volunteer Bureau

Started up in 1974, we are a group of volunteers that give our spare time and use our own vehicles to take people from Mortimer and surrounding villages to and from medical and dental appointments - doctors, dentists, opticians, hospitals, clinics, scans, blood tests and anything medical - just asking for a small donation to cover our modest office costs and driver fuel. Although the majority of trips are in the local area, we can sometimes take residents to medical appointments as far afield as Basingstoke, Swindon, Oxford, Windsor, Frimley Park and beyond.

If you or your loved ones need transport to a medical appointment, call our friendly office volunteers to arrange a driver. You can leave a message and they’re very good at calling you back.

We always need more volunteer drivers, so if you have a few hours to spare Monday to Friday daytimes please get in touch - it doesn't have to be a particular day or time, and we’re very grateful for any time you can give us.
