Geek School Tutoring is a specialist 11+ and GCSE tuition provider with centres in Beckenham and Catford and live online tuition across the UK. Since 2014 we have helped over 1,000 children reach grammar schools, independent schools and their GCSE potential.
Our 11+ programme covers English comprehension, creative writing and essay, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning, taught in small groups of up to six with weekly sessions and targeted homework. We also run 11+ summer intensives and realistic mock tests with full written reports for parents.
Our GCSE tuition supports Years 9 to 11 in English Language, maths and the sciences, biology, chemistry and physics, with small group and one-to-one options, mock exam support and past paper practice. Students regularly achieve grades 8 and 9.
We hold a 100% pass rate for Kent, Bexley and Medway grammar schools, and our students have won places at schools including St Olave's, Newstead Wood, The Judd and Henrietta Barnett. Geek School is Ofsted registered, a corporate member of The Tutors' Association, and all tutors are DBS checked. One-to-one tuition is £32.50 per hour and the comprehensive 11+ package covering all four subjects is £187 per month. We accept Childcare Vouchers, Tax-Free Childcare and CCG Pay. Absolutely horrendous customer service.
I emailed to cancel a lesson and also tried to call to make sure the cancellation was received, yet I was still charged for the lesson I had clearly requested to cancel. I also attempted to contact Jocellyn directly by phone but was unable to get through.
I subsequently provided proof of my phone logs and email correspondence to her and requested a phone call to resolve the matter. Rather than speaking with me directly to resolve the issue, I received a court letter demanding payment along with court fees and interest.
The way this situation was handled left me with the impression that resolving a straightforward issue and supporting students was not the priority. The experience was extremely disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.
There are much better schools nearby that, in my experience, place greater emphasis on their students and customer service. I would strongly suggest considering other options.

I am writing to complain about the experience I had when I arrived for my daughter’s assessment appointment today.
From the outset, there was little professionalism or courtesy displayed. Despite my apologising for being late, I was barely spoken to, and wasn’t even asked my name nor my daughter’s. I was then told me I would need to leave my daughter for an hour. When I asked if there was somewhere I could wait in the building, I was abruptly told “no” and informed that this had been made clear in the confirmation email. This was simply not true.
I found this response dismissive and unacceptable. It is completely unreasonable to expect a parent to leave their child in an unfamiliar environment, with no introductions, no reassurance, and no effort made to build even the most basic level of trust.
Based on this experience, I will not be proceeding with your services and I will make sure to leave a review. I would not entrust my child to an establishment that treats potential customers in this way. If you are dealing with families and children, a higher standard of customer service and care is essential.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as your approach on this occasion has cost you a customer and will certainly deter others.

Everyone was very welcoming and made my daughter feel comfortable, she understood content much more easily and it helped boost her grades a lot. Would recommend.

I would like to strongly recommend Geek School to all parents who wish for their children to flourish and thrive with excellence! .
My son and daughter received top-class quality tuition via Geek school since the age of 9 years. I am proud to say that my children have both excelled beyond expectations. My daughter now attends a fantastic independent girls' school in Dulwich (JAGS) and my son was fortunate to start his academic year at Trinity in Croydon from year 6 following the success of his 10+ exams.
I am truly thankful to Geek School and their level, style and quality of teaching. 5-stars all the way!.
