The piping tradition at Eastbourne is over a hundred years old. It began in the 1890s with St. Andrew's Day dinners. The Presbyterian Pipe Band was formed and appeared in public in 1898. The Centenary Pipe School was founded in 1999 to continue teaching the pipes to juniors.
We learn.Practice begins with a small whistle instrument called a chanter. Over a period of time the pipe music is learnt and memorised.
