Awful and arrogant company to deal with. Salesmen can be rude, aggressive with sales tactics and talk over you. They want £500 deposit and for you to book a timeslot before you even look at a motorhome. We provisionally agreed to buy a motorhome from 4Front, and arranged an independent pre-purchase inspection. This picked up several minor details and a couple of major ones - one being an extremely high reading of damp in the garage door (64%).
They confirmed they would fix the minor issues, but with regards to the damp, they said they would just re-seal the door (this is not dealing with the issue, but potentially making it worse, meaning the damp would then be sealed in and the rotting wood not dealt with). They said they had got a second opinion from an external company they work alongside frequently, then advised us that the re-sealing of the door would suffice based on this advice.
By this point we had seen the reviews on Google and Trustpilot where it was apparent 4Front had been underhand with other buyers regarding damp issues. So we had lost trust in them. We contacted the partner company they said they used, who advised us that they hadn’t fully inspected it, and didn’t suggest sealing the garage door at all, and that it would need much more work undertaking: stripping, wood replacing, drying out etc.
By now, there were huge red flags, and we were unsure that any of the other issues the independent check had determined would be dealt with properly either. We went back to 4Front and offered £1,000 less than the asking price so we could rectify the garage door damp with a trusted independent company closer to our home. Well, that went down like a lead balloon, and they refused the lower offer, saying that they would fix it. The salesperson was talking aggressively over me as I tried to explain, and pretty much hung up on me. By now all trust had broken down, and we just couldn’t risk spending £50,000 with a company who appear so dishonest and untrustworthy.
They’d rather sell a damp van to a more trusting and unsuspecting customer and leave them with problems, than discount their damp van at all or get it rectified properly to start with.
It’s like dealing with 80’s dodgy used car sales place.
I would recommend you avoid this company, but if you do deal with them, ensure you get a fully independent inspection!

You utterly lied to us regarding getting an independent inspection.
You claimed you had Vanlife Services of Brighton to inspect the damage and told us they advised a small strip of silicone sealant would stop the damp. I rang Vanlife and spoke to them directly. They stated they *HAD NOT* inspected it fully at all. They said a strip of sealant would seal any damp in, making the damp problem WORSE, not correct the issue. They advised that the garage door needs stripping down and depending on what they found, may need a new door (£1600) or possibly just the internal wood of the door replacing.
The motorhome was otherwise really nice, so I offered to still buy it, but discounted by £1000, and I would get the work done myself, as I no longer trusted a word you had to say. You were then insulting, saying I’m just trying to chip you on price and you won’t discount it by a penny. When I repeated the dishonesty and blatant lies they had told me, they spoke over me and said they will just refund the deposit then and YOU pretty much hung up on me. I did not terminate the call, you did. Lies again!
I didn’t even mention the fact as a reputable dealer, you Suprisingly claimed to not know that tyres have a shelf life of 5-7 years. The tyres on the van were 8 years old and needed changing, but it took a lot of arguing and googling before you finally agreed to change them.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
