Handyman Hastings

Very bad experience. Tried to massively overcharge me for some basic loft insulaton. Quoted £3225 for a job which a proper specalist insulation company are doing for £900. (And you'd expect a general handyman to be cheaper than a specialist company!). Looking at the prices I could buy the materials for with no trade discounts etc, he must have been trying to charge me nearly £60 per square metre in labour charges alone, just for laying down some rolls of insulation!

More than just a handyman service! I wasn't entirely sure how to solve a damp issue in my cupboard. The guy from Handyman Hastings Ltd. took the time to investigate properly, explained the cause in a way I could understand, and offered a few different solutions at different price points. He was genuinely helpful, not just trying to get the job done. He even moved some heavy furniture for me without being asked. A+ for customer service.

I'm a perfectionist, so I'm incredibly impressed with the work done by Handyman Hastings Ltd. They did some intricate carpentry work to repair our period skirting boards, and you literally cannot tell where the damage was. The attention to detail was exceptional. They didn't cut corners and took the time to get everything just right. You truly get what you pay for, and in this case, it's flawless craftsmanship.

I don't leave negative reviews lightly but unfortunately I can relate to the other negative reviews. Albert came round to give me a quote and eagerly gave me his business card. Over two weeks later and a couple of follow up texts from me, I've heard nothing at all. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere and respecting your own time because Albert wont EDIT: Unfortunately, rather than being honest and admitting when something has gone wrong, Albert has decided to completely deny everything and claim this is a false review. I can assure you it isn't. I didn't want it to get to this, but I have included the messages over a period of two weeks where I was ignored. I'll happily remove when some responsibility is finally taken for bad service. EDIT 2: Albert has now changed his reply again. The service we were provided was unsatisfactory. The communications (or lack of) are not private and at no stage were they agreed to be. Albert seems to misunderstand what the purpose of a review is. In both versions of his replies, he - Takes no Responsibility - Blames the customer for the poor service - Threatens reporting

Albert is wonderful. We had a leaking window in our shed roof. He had the ingenuity and skill to find a solution to a unique and tricky problem. He noticed the door to the shed was not closing properly and fixed this without mentioning it. In the same visit he also replaced a bath overflow pipe after quickly understanding what was needed and the best solution. Very polite too. What an amazing find for us! Thanks Albert 😊
