About our business
A magical place
UpCountry was born in 2014 when our original Scaynes Hill branch opened its doors as a nursery offering a small selection of homegrown plants and gardening supplies to the local area.
A few years down the line and we’ve developed into a family-run garden centre like no other! We pride ourselves on offering a unique garden shopping experience for our customers. Our family and pet friendly stores offer something fascinating for everyone, whether it’s exploring our London bus at our Scaynes Hill branch, or meeting Timmy the cat at Stone Cross there’s never a dull moment at UpCountry!
Both our garden centres provide the perfect place to shop and browse our vast selection of plants, local farm produce, gardening and pet supplies. Or simply as a place for a day trip out with the family.

Easy to find just off the roundabout, huge parking area, great selection of pottery pots at very affordable prices, not much in the way of plants when I visited in early March but that’s to be expected due to the season. Nice cafe on site too with outside seating available. Wheelchair friendly throughout.

Such a lovely little garden centre.. we loved seeing Timmy the very elderly in-house cat!! Lots of lovely plants and products to purchase.. we stopped for coffee, and it was all delicious! Staff were friendly. Basic, but clean facilities.

Staff are lovely. Place needs rebuilding. Scruffy, toilets need decorating/cleaning. Plants are not looked after as well as they should be. There are often dead plants due to lack of watering.Best coffee locally.2 4 1 breakfast before 10am. Selection of teas. Good amount of vehicle parking spaces.

Took a walk this evening on a foot path that runs behind upcountry in stone cross, horrified by the amount of ragwort growing inside what appears to be their boundary. I would liked to have thought a garden centre would never allow this to happen !

Huge variety of merchandise. Staff are extremely helpful especially Dan, worth a visit, cafe on site too which is very nice, clean and lots on offer!
