Monkton Wyld Holiday Park

There are many campsites who should look to this one for how to run a great site. Upon arrival, the friendliest team of ladies greet you as if you are a long lost friend and give you all the info you need, offering to help with anything you aren't sure about. The pitches are lovely and big compared to others and you are always close to all the necessary outlets. For those who need good wifi whilst you are away, theirs is probably the best we've experienced on a camping site. There are two amenity blocks and we were near the 'old' block, which still is far superior to most blocks at other sites we've tried. (The new block is even better!) The pitches are separated into groups, so you never feel like you are on a big park with lots of others around you. We stayed on pitch 244 where there were only 6 in little area. There's a park and games room on site for children and the shop has almost everything you could need. If you need a big shop or camping spares, there's shops very close by, plus you are v. close to the coast. There are lots of well thought out ideas like the dog walk between and around the different areas, with it's bark floor and overhead coloured lights, it's equally as appealing as a 'magical walk' after sunset. All in all, it's the best site we've been to and one of the others we were camping near said they have taken their caravan all over, and this was by far the best. It's very quiet and feels like you are staying on a nature reserve! Their storage is very reasonable, so we left our caravan there and booked up another 3 breaks before we left! Hope you will love it too

This is the most unfriendly site we have stayed on. We are older caravaners than most. So not so good and quick as others at pitching up. The site we were given was on one of the main roads through the site. Immediately people were glaring at us to get out of their way. Including a blonde member of staff driving a buggy thing. She just sat there with a face like thunder until we moved our car. The next morning at about 6.30am my young dog needed to go out. We were close to the dog trail so we just walked up the road off lead. Unfortunately we met the same lady who lectured us about having the dog loose. It was 6.39!

Thank you Suzzie and your team for a great sray at Monkton wyld camp site. Very clean site, the pitches are flat, the facilitys are kept VERY clean. Great food trucks on siteevery night, have been 4 times before and definatly returning later in the year. Well done to all the staff for a great stay.

Beautiful setting, generous sized plots. Facilities were spotless, with free showers. Pleasant dog paths through woodland, lit by fairy lights at night. Also a dog paddock. 20 min walk to pub with good food & to bus for Lyme Regis. Staff are charming and helpful. During term time, so peaceful, but there is a kids area and a games room. We visited in our camper, and will definitely be back.

This has to be one of the most modern C&C sites I have stayed on. The facilities are modern. The bathroom treats you like an adult with hot water in the shower, which lasts longer than 30 seconds. The cubicle is huge! Excellent for families. It's a 7-minute drive to Charmouth beach for a spot of fossil hunting. The Hunters Lodge is a 30-minute walk away. Although, my husband and I thought the food was very poor. Personal choice, I suppose.
