A group of 6 of us (3 couples) rented a 6 berth holiday home for the Halloween weekend and had a great time.
The holiday home was modern and well maintained. It was very spacious with a large lounge area with an electric "mock hearth" fireplace, a decent sized Tv and a 3 seater and 4 seater sofa. Outside was a full width balcony accessed through the large french windows.
In from the lounge was a big kitchen and a 4 seater dining table. A 6 place table would have been better but the 4 seater sofa along the side of the lounge limited space.
The kitchen was new, fully equipped and provided everything you need to cook anything from toast to a roast dinner for 6.
The hall led to two twin rooms and a large bathroom that included a great, powerful shower in a big shower cubicle, no need to worry about knocking stuff off the shelf or elbowing a hole in the shower screen (yup, been there, done that)
At the end of the hall was a large double bedroom with a toilet and sink en-suite.
Throughout the caravan there was masses of storage and it's easy to see why so many people spend so much time in their holiday homes.
The microbore, gas central heating was brilliant. Easy to operate and very effective.
We had a short, straight walk to the clubhouse and reception where the staff kindly lent us some extra towels without a quibble.
On the Friday we stayed in and had more than enough room to relax and stretch out.
On the Saturday, after brekky, we walked along the beach to Hastings followed by an evening in the clubhouse.
Yes we went in "some" fancy dress.
On arrival the bingo, which I believe, includes all the Park Holidays site was in progress.
This was followed by the Halloween show that included a singer and two female dancers plus the pesky ghost. All in all a great show for adults and kids alike.
The evening finished off with a disco.
A great night.
However, beware that the regulars plant their pitches to get the best views of the shows on stage and will shoo you off if you get in the way. The bar prices are rather excessive especially as the site seems to have a high level of long term occupants who might be counting their pennies.
On the Sunday we walked along the beach towards Camber Sands and had a great Fish and Chips dinner from the chippy just outside the campsite gates and to the left near the Co-op shop.
All in all a great weekend despite the few stroppy longterm residents, the high bar prices and the guy with the petrol mower cutting the grass around the caravans early on Sunday morning. That didn't go down well hence the 4 stars.
