B X TAILOR & ALTERATION

Unfortunately I would not recommend this tailors because they lied to me with my wedding dress. It has been 1 year and I am still traumatised by my experience. To start off, the length was the issue - the dress was too long. The dress fit my waist and chest fine. The manager said the waist should be slightly taken in to fit like a glove, but that it would be folded inside and not cut until 2 weeks before the wedding when my final weight was known. He said this had to be done first before altering the length. This sounded ok because it was not going to be cut, just folded. However this was a lie. Let me get straight to the point and tell you that when I went for the next dress fitting the dress was so tight I could not breathe and for every following fitting the dress could not be done up and I would try it on with it half open. But these fittings were to focus on the dress length. We tried to do it up a few times and in the end the elastic from the buttons stretched and broke showing how tight it now was. My mum and mother in law were concerned and wanted the manager to immediately let out the dress. But he said it would be done at the end, other wise he would end up possibly letting it out twice which is a lot of work for them. So we said ok trying to help them and trusting them. From that date until 2 weeks before the wedding I managed to lose 8kg. This was for my own health reasons and nothing to do with the dress. 2 weeks before the wedding I went for the final adjustments and the dress was still too tight so I asked them to let it out. Guess what, to my horror the dress had been cut all this time. And it could not be let out. They LIED to me telling me the dress from the chest to waist had not been cut when it had. So if I had not lost 8kg the whole dress would not have actually fit me. In the end we had to cut 2 buttons closing the dress for the dress to fit. The back of this dress used to fit me beautifully before I went to this tailors. Removing the buttons was not even the tailors idea, it was my mother in laws! They are meant to be the professionals guiding us. Photo 1: 8kg heavier but the dress closes. Photo 2: 8kg lighter and the dress no longer closes. I expect this shop to respond rude and defensive but this is the truth.

My dress was altered in a short timeframe, and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. The fit is perfect, and I’m so pleased with the result.
