At Back in Action Osteopathic and Holistic Centre we will aim to get you restored to optimal fitness through our range of treatments. We also have links with a top exercise professional who works in Horsham and the surrounding villages (Warnham, Broadbridge Heath, Southwater, Billingshurst, Coolham, Barns Green etc).
All osteopaths in the UK are regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and must renew their registration annually. Osteopathy is described as a “system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.” (GOsC, 2015).
Osteopaths will assess your body to determine any areas where the structure is not working optimally and will work to restore a state of balance to your body. Osteopaths look to engage your body’s healing mechanisms by the use of touch and physical manipulation. This aims to relieve muscle tension and to enhance the blood and nerve supply to the body’s tissues. They will also look at how to avoid symptoms recurring and may provide advice on posture and exercise to aid with this.
