I am an experienced university lecturer and private tutor offering English tuition for GCSE, A-Level and university students in Kenilworth, Coventry, Leamington Spa and online throughout the UK.
I hold a PhD in English Literature and an MA with Distinction from the University of Manchester, together with a CELTA teaching qualification. I have approximately 20 years of teaching experience at universities in the UK and internationally, including Hong Kong and the South Pacific.
I offer tuition in:
GCSE English Language and Literature – examination preparation, reading comprehension, essay writing and literary analysis.
A-Level English Literature – close reading, critical interpretation, essay structure and examination techniques.
University-level academic writing – essay planning, critical thinking, research skills, referencing and dissertation guidance.
IELTS and Academic English – support for international students preparing for university study.
My lessons are friendly, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs. I aim to build confidence, strengthen analytical and writing skills, and help students become more independent and successful learners.
I have extensive experience working with students of different ages, abilities and educational backgrounds, and take a patient, supportive and professional approach to teaching.
Rate: £35 per hour
