We are seeking a calm, patient, and proactive Autism Support Worker / Personal Assistant to support a 20-year-old autistic young man in building independence and daily-living skills. He is highly capable but experiences challenges with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.

The ideal candidate can think ahead, follow structured behaviour-support routines, and help him succeed without over-prompting.

Responsibilities
• Provide 1-to-1 support using low-arousal / Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
• Follow clear safety and communication protocols (Zones of Regulation)
• Use task analysis and chaining to teach independent skills such as meal prep and washing up.
• Encourage expressive language and emotional self-regulation through consistent routines
• Record brief daily notes (task steps completed, Zones check, any incidents
Collaborate closely with parent and external professionals to review progress

Essential Skills / Experience
• Proven success supporting autistic adults or older teens with behaviour of concern.
• Confident using calm, structured responses and maintaining personal space in escalations.
• Able to shrink tasks rather than complete them for the learner.
Reliable, emotionally steady, and able to follow a written support plan.
• Good written English for brief notes.
• (Preferred) PBS, Studio 3, Team-Teach, or similar training; or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification
