15.2hh Sports Horse Mare Available for Full or Part Loan

Due to family commitments and taking a step back from riding, I am looking for the right person to enjoy my much-loved 15.2hh sports horse mare, available on either a full or part loan basis.

She is a 17-year-old mare, but certainly doesn’t act her age and still has plenty of enthusiasm for life. I’ve owned her for the past 6 years and in that time she has truly done it all. She has enjoyed fun rides, beach rides, hunting, low-level showjumping competitions and plenty of hacking. She’s a fun, forward-going horse who loves having a job to do.

She would suit a confident and capable rider. She can occasionally test the boundaries and has a bit of attitude rather than anything nasty. In company and open spaces she can be strong, and she has been known to nap in the past, although this is not something she currently does. That said, she may try her luck with a new rider initially, so confidence and consistency are important. Happy to discuss this in more detail with genuinely interested people.

She is good to catch, clip and load, and is a pleasure to handle on the ground. She has never been lame or sick during my ownership. Currently she only wears front shoes due to her reduced workload, although she would require a full set if doing significant roadwork.

For a part loan, she is based at a lovely DIY yard in Ivybridge (PL21) with access to a school and indoor barn.

For a full loan, I would consider her moving to the right home within approximately one hour of Plymouth.

Finding the right home is my priority. Homes will be vetted, and I would ask that any loaner keeps in touch with updates as she means a great deal to me.

She is absolutely not suitable for a young child coming off ponies or for a novice rider. She needs someone confident, experienced and happy to ride a forward-going horse who occasionally likes to remind you she has opinions.
