"Willow" Bay Mare All Rounder

🌸 WILLOW – LOVELY, FUN ALL-ROUNDER 🌸

16.1hh | 9yo | Mare | Hockley, Essex

Willow is a lovely, fun mare with plenty of experience under her belt and lots to offer the right person. She has hunted, hacked, attended shows and enjoyed cross-country, and is a horse who really thrives when she has a job to do!

Willow is actually a horse we have owned previously and know well. She has now returned to us on sales livery after spending the last year in a more novice home, where we feel she has perhaps become a little too accustomed to making some of her own decisions!

She is a lovely mare at heart, but she does appreciate clear, consistent guidance from her rider. She can become a little anxious when she’s unsure of what’s expected of her, and we feel she has picked up a few habits from being in a home where perhaps she hasn’t always had the confident leadership she benefits from.

Willow is very much a get-on-and-get-going sort of girl! She’s not particularly interested in standing around once you’re on board and would much rather crack on with the job! She’s forward-thinking, enjoys her work and is happiest when she’s given something to focus on.

Since returning to us, she has settled back into our routine beautifully and has already been out cross-country. It’s been lovely seeing her relax back into herself with a little consistency and reassurance.

Now, whilst we’re being completely transparent about the above, Willow is also regularly ridden by our 12-year-old rider and handled by children on a daily basis! She’s certainly not some sort of difficult or unmanageable horse. She simply needs someone who is happy to take the lead, set a few boundaries and remind her that she doesn’t need to worry about making all the decisions herself! 💕

We feel Willow would really suit a confident, kind rider who enjoys a forward-going horse and is happy to provide the consistency she needs. She’s not one we’d choose for a nervous novice, but equally she doesn’t need a professional rider. Just someone who is quietly confident, fair and consistent.

There’s a really lovely horse in Willow, and we know that because we’ve seen it ourselves! She has plenty of experience, loves getting out and about and has so much enjoyment to offer someone who understands her.

We would love to find her a home where she can continue to thrive, have fun and enjoy life with her very own person. ❤️
