"Viking" Black Gelding All Rounder

Viking is handsome young cob with lots of personality and potential. He is a talented horse who enjoys having a varied workload and would thrive with a confident rider looking to continue his education.

Viking has enjoyed a range of Pony Club activities, including dressage, showjumping and cross-country. He has also competed successfully at local dressage and showjumping competitions, being placed on every outing and qualifying for local championships. He particularly enjoys jumping and getting out and about.

In the arena, Viking is still green but has three regular paces and works in a nice outline.

He is good to catch, loads well and will stand nicely for the Farrier. He’s happy to be clipped with a patient handler. He is currently barefoot.

Viking hacks happily in company, although he is still gaining in confidence when hacking alone and would benefit from a competent, confident rider.

As a young, intelligent horse, he enjoys being kept busy and having clear, consistent guidance. If he becomes bored or lacks direction, he may test boundaries and he has previously napped and on occasion has had a minor rear with less experienced riders.

We feel this is due to greenness, and he has since responded to fair , confident riding.

As our first owned pony after moving on from the riding school environment, my Daughter’s confidence has unfortunately not matched Viking’s needs, and she does not feel she has the time or experience to help him achieve his full potential.

We are looking for a knowledgeable, loving home where Viking can continue to progress. He is not a novice ride or a first pony, but he will be a rewarding partner for a confident rider who enjoys producing a young horse.

Viking is happy living in or out and is fully up to date with routine care, including vaccinations and teeth.

Tack and rugs are available by separate negotiation including a new saddle.
