Could be bought back into work in the right environment. He needs an experienced, calm, confident partner. I have fallen out of love and trust with him and it is not fair on either on us to keep trying to make this work. After nine years, this is a really tough decision. Since having my daughter 2 years ago I don’t have the time, patience or want to get a relationship back with him.
He could also be a great companion, he can be with mares or geldings and responds well to the vibe of the herd. Eg he will ‘play’ if others are playful but equally will leave them alone if they tell him to! He currently lives out 24/7 and ‘lives off fresh air’. He used to be stabled over night in winter so is used to this too. He can crib when fed in a stable.
Great to catch, shoe, groom, clip etc. Loads with gentle persuasion (food!). He can be a donkey but he can also be sharp and spooky so experienced homes only.
I’ve owned him for nine years so home is very important, I will not see him being passed around. Happy for loan , loan with view to buy or sale to the right home.
