Description

Two Lead Rein Ponies – 11.2hh, 9 Years Old

It is with very heavy hearts that we are offering our two much-loved ponies for sale. We have owned rusty since he was three years old and he came to us as a stallion, my daughter rode ( Leid rein ) him before he was cut and he was not fazed. They have been a huge part of our daughter’s life for the last six years and have helped her gain confidence, experience, and countless happy memories. As she is now ready to move on to horses, we are seeking knowledgeable, loving 5⭐ homes for these special ponies.

These ponies have helped bring on my daughter as a novice rider from the very beginning. My daughter started on the Leid rein and remained on it until she was confident and ready to ride independently. They looked after her throughout that journey and helped build her confidence every step of the way.

Both ponies are still regularly ridden by novice riders and are happy to be led when needed. Rusty enjoys being a leid rein pony he would do it day in day out. They are patient, genuine ponies who understand their job and are equally content taking care of a beginner or stepping up to enjoy Pony Club activities, competitions, and fun rides. Rusty is in tune with the jockey under saddle.

Ideally, we would love them to remain together as they are great companions and have grown up side by side, but they can be sold separately to the right homes.

About Them

* 11.2hh

* 9 years old

* Lead rein ponies

* Barefoot

* Ridden in a snaffle

* Live out all year round with access to a field shelter

* No dietary restrictions

* Never been sick and have been easy to manage

* Used to dogs and cats

* Kept at home with us and handled daily as part of family life

Experience

These ponies have enjoyed a varied and successful life, taking part in:

* Fun rides

* Hunting

* Pony Club activities

* showjumping - Unaffiliated competitions

* NSEA competitions

My daughter competes at Grassroots level with her school NSEA team, and both ponies have qualified for Hickstead. They are genuine all-rounders who enjoy getting out and about and taking part in activities.

Hacking & Manners

* Hack alone or in company

* Good in traffic 99% of the time

* Love going out for a hack

* Load onto a trailer, although sometimes he can be cheeky, the offer of treats helps!

* Sensible and level-headed

* Do not need riding every day and are not fizzy or sharp if left for a week.

Temperament

Both ponies are loving, affectionate characters who enjoy being groomed and fussed over. They have been part of our family since they were yearlings and have grown up in a busy home environment. They are kind, friendly ponies who enjoy human company and attention.

They are very much part of the family and regularly spend time in our garden. They are so people-oriented that they often put their heads through the open window looking for attention and would happily come into the house if we let them! Their affectionate personalities and love of being around people make them a pleasure to own and handle.

Additional Information

* Tack and wardrobe available separately

* Daughter still rides both regularly

* Genuine reason for sale as daughter is moving on to horses

Handling & Care

Both ponies are good to handle and are well-mannered for routine care. They are good for the farrier and are barefoot. Rusty can occasionally be a little fussy when having his back legs handled, but this is easily managed and has never caused any issues with regular farrier visits.

These ponies owe us absolutely nothing and have given our daughter the most wonderful years. They will be greatly missed, so finding the right homes is our priority. Ideally, we would love to see them stay together, but they can be sold separately to the right families.

They are the type of ponies that can happily live a family life, enjoy attention, go out hacking, compete when asked, and then have time off without becoming difficult or sharp. They have been cherished members of our family and deserve equally loving homes for their next chapter.

Knowledgeable 5⭐ homes only. Serious enquiries welcome. Photos, videos and further information available on request.
