Very sad sale of a much-loved Irish Draft gelding who has been a genuine first horse and truly taken care of his novice rider for the last 2 years. He has a wonderfully kind, steady temperament and is as straightforward as they come to handle on the ground and under saddle.
He has been a confidence-giving first horse and is very forgiving, sensible and honest. He is the same to ride whether he’s been worked regularly or had a few weeks off – you can simply bring him in and go for a relaxed hack without fuss.
He is a real pleasure to hack both alone and in company, always sensible in traffic and out in open spaces. He would happily continue as a low-pressure leisure horse for someone wanting safe, enjoyable hacking rather than a competition horse. He will pop a small jump if asked but this is not his forte, and he is far more suited to hacking and fun rides.
Easy to do in all ways – good to clip, shoe (currently barefoot), load, catch and handle. He lives out happily and is a very good doer, thriving on a simple routine.
This is a genuine, kind horse who looks after his rider and would suit a novice or nervous rider looking for a safe, uncomplicated horse to enjoy hacking and build confidence on.
5* knowledgeable home wanted where he will be appreciated and kept as the much-loved horse he deserves to be.
