"Ritual De Le’equipe" Bay Mare All Rounder

Aheartbreaking sale of a much-loved mare and firm yard favourite.

Bree is a beautiful 16.1hh, 9-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare with exceptional breeding, being a direct descendant of Diamant de Semilly. She has been known throughout her entire history since being imported as a 3-year-old.

Bree is not suitable for a novice rider, simply because she is a forward-thinking, responsive mare who enjoys her work and always aims to please. She is never naughty or dangerous—she has never kicked, bitten, bucked, bolted, or reared. To put her temperament into perspective, my friend’s 8-year-old has happily ridden her.

She is a pleasure to own in every way. She’s lovely around the yard, enjoys attention, and will happily stand to be groomed for hours. She is excellent for the farrier, dentist and clipping, is barefoot with fantastic feet, and is fully up to date with vaccinations.

Under saddle, Bree is snaffle-mouthed, schools beautifully, has established automatic flying changes, and enjoys her flatwork. She hacks confidently both alone and in company.

She loads and travels well in my 3.5-ton horsebox. I don’t own a trailer, so I haven’t had the opportunity to try her in one.

While Bree has previously competed at BS training shows, she has shown that jumping is no longer where her heart lies. She much prefers flatwork and hacking, and although she may well regain her enthusiasm for jumping with consistent work, I simply can’t offer her the time needed to explore that. Because of this, I feel she would be happiest with someone looking for a quality all-round riding horse who enjoys schooling and hacking, with the option of bringing her jumping back if desired.

This is an incredibly difficult decision, and finding Bree the right home is far more important than a quick sale. She is a genuine, affectionate mare who has so much to offer and will give her new owner years of enjoyment.
