"Otto" Bright Bay Gelding Happy Hacker

Otto is an 8 year old Thoroughbred, 16.1hh. Unraced.

I have owned otto for 3 years now and I bought him to go eventing, but it just never happened.

I am going to be completely honest in this advert as I want him to find the right home.

He has always had regular chiropractor sessions as I do with all of my horses and he has always ridden fine with hacking, but as soon as we try to do more like jumping, he ends up with a sore back. After 2 chiropractor sessions he is completely fine again. I have just started my own business and with the cost of living at the moment, I can't afford to put him through testing, which is why I'm selling to focus on my career.

Otto is not currently being ridden as I don't have a suitable school for him but he has been given the all clear from the chiropractor to come back into work.

He is a lovely boy who loves attention. He is great out hacking and absolutely loves it. He can hack alone or in company and has been on sponsored rides with large groups. He doesn't enjoy schooling work but will do it if he has to, which is another reason why I'm selling him as a happy hacker. Being a thoroughbred, he does have his excitable moments, so he does need someone who is fairly experienced.

He is very easy to manage weight wise and is currently fed haylage. I do currently have him on dodson and horrell breath-free supplement as he has pollen allergies, which keeps it at bay.

He can be grumpy around feed if you linger around him, so I tend to give him his food and leave him to eat it.

He is up to date with vaccinations, worming, dentist etc. He is barefoot on all 4 feet, I used scoot boots on his fronts out hacking.

His price is reflecting the above, but I am open to offers. He does need someone experienced but will love a life of hacking.
