Monty – 11yo 15.2hh Grey Connemara Gelding – £7,500

Monty is a much-loved 11-year-old, 15.2hh grey Connemara gelding looking for a very special 5⭐️ home.

This is a very hard decision for his owner, and finding the right home for this much-loved boy is the absolute priority.

Monty has a lovely sweet, affectionate nature and is a real character. He has enjoyed a varied life and has experience in hacking, schooling, unaffiliated dressage, fun rides, holidays, Working Equitation, dressage and polework clinics. He has also hunted both in Ireland and here in the UK.

He has continued to be hacked and schooled regularly, although he hasn't been out competing or to organised events for around two years. He is currently being ridden by a member of the yard staff and is working very well on the flat, with established lateral work and medium work.

At home he is jumping small courses, including fillers and rustic fences, and will happily pop small logs when out hacking.

He hacks out alone and in company, going happily in front or behind.

Monty is currently shod all round and is a pleasure to deal with on the ground:

- Good for the farrier and dentist

- Easy to catch

- Good to clip and bath

- Happy to have his mane pulled

- Loads and travels well

- Used to travelling in both a 3.5-tonne horsebox and a large lorry

- Well behaved when out and about

Monty can be anxious around heavy vehicles, so he needs a confident, reassuring rider who can support him in these situations. For this reason, he is not suitable for a novice or nervous rider.

He would make a lovely Riding Club horse, hunter or all-rounder for a competent, sympathetic rider who wants a genuine horse to enjoy across a variety of disciplines. He has plenty to offer and would be equally happy continuing his education on the flat, enjoying clinics and fun rides, getting out hunting or returning to competition.

Monty is a genuinely lovely horse with a lot to offer the right person. He is very much loved, and finding him the right home is more important than finding him a quick sale.
