17hh Irish x tb 17 year old hunter type. I have basically totally wasted him as I have owned him since 5yo. I bought him from his breeder, so whole life history is known. I backed him and then had kids, moved yard, started working for my husbands farm etc etc. He is so low mileage, I have taken him to one dressage competition 10 years ago and that is it. We occasionally school and jump in the arena at home and that is about it. Clean legs, he is a really nice hunter type and the reason I have never sold him as I know I would never be able to afford something like him again. He is a big smart horse with lots of ability. He is a very sensitive forward ride. He can be excitable, bucks with joy going into canter or after a fence when he hasn't been ridden for a while. Bit spooky and nervous out hacking, but I have never had anything to hack with. I only have busy roads to ride on, so I just prefer riding in the school. He loves jumping and makes a reasonable shape. He is a sensitive forward ride and knows basic leg yielding and shoulder in. He works in a nice outline and gives a nice contact. I don't have many photos as I always ride on my own.
He has always been a bit tricky to load. When I bought him I had a lorry and I didn't have any problems travelling him. I think he would often have a companion in the lorry which probably helped. I can now only afford a trailer and this doesn't suit him. He will load but he has had issues trying to turn around which has given himself and me a fright. Any ambitions I have of competing will have to be done on my own. For this reason I don't feel there is any point in me schooling him further if I can't get him out and about.
Needless to say he is not a novice ride and I will only sell him to an experienced home.
