"Louie" Bright Bay Gelding Happy Hacker

Louie is a lovely 8-year-old 16hh Thoroughbred gelding, offering a fantastic all-rounder type for a confident novice rider looking for a genuine well mannered and affectionate horse.

Louie although an ex-racer saw very little racing, has adapted well to life as an all round , happy hacker, loves his eduction and a quick learner. He has a kind, willing attitude to his work. He is a pleasure to ride and have on the yard and absolutely loves human interaction—he’ll greet you at the gate and happily comes when called from the field. I have videos to prove if you'd like to see. As a novice myself, I have thoroughly enjoyed being partnered with Louie on our adventures! He's looked after me as much as I have him. Louie is being sold through no fault of his. He is an absolutely stunning horse. Not that I'm bias :)

Temperament & Handling:

Louie is incredibly friendly and people-oriented, always keen to say hello to anyone nearby. He enjoys his food and is very responsive to treat-based training (used sensibly). He thrives on building a connection with his rider, so a home where time and partnership are valued is important.

Ridden Work:

• Hacks confidently alone and in company.

• Brilliant in all traffic, real maturity and care on the road!

• Nicely mannered under saddle and enjoyable to ride.

• Has been ridden by novice riders alike and children, but would be best suited to a confident rider to continue his education. That being said i am no expert!

Louie is a genuinely loving horse who will make a wonderful partner in the right home. A trial is encouraged, as it’s important he forms the right bond with his new owner. Ideally a trial on current yard or local may be considered.

Louie will come with all of his equipment we use including a stock of feed to ensure he settles well in his new home. I will include his Basic saddle, bridle, winter and summer rugs, brushes, nets, saddle pads, stirrups and leathers. Everything you need to start riding right away.
