"Joey" Coloured Gelding Happy Hacker

Joey is a super lovely little chap, with a heart of gold and always looks to please.

He’s 7 years old, approx 15.1hh.

I’ve owned Joey for the last 3 years and had nothing but fun, he can be your typically cool as a cucumber cob but does have a spicy side now and again (always a cheeky fun spice, never scary)

He is very low mileage for his age and I’ve mainly done hacking and some light schooling with him with the occasional jump.

He hacks out happily in company or solo, hes happy to take the lead when there’s something scary or fall behind, not fussed.

Has been used out hacking to help with naughty/nervous horses.

Happy with farm machinery, quarry lorries, hacks out with me, my son on his bike and our dogs with no issues …….. a squirrel on the other hand may cause a scare 😂

Hacks through quarry’s, open fields & bridle ways and doesn’t change his pace.

He may seem quite keen to canter through a field but trust me that will last for 5 strides then some encouragement would be needed to get him to keep going 😂

Does have his excitable moments, nothing nasty or dangerous.

He schools nicely and is always up for learning new things and could do a nice dressage test with someone who wanted to.

I’ve jumped him a few times, unfortunately due to an old accident, jumping isn’t really for me anymore. But he loves it, happy to jumper fillers, planks etc with no issue but does lack experience & education so would need someone that can help/teach him. - he is on the lazy side

I do think more of a happy hacker home would suit him best.

Good to catch, lunge, shoe, clip, load - happy to be last out in the field or first one in a stable, not a stressy type at all.

Will come with full wardrobe, tack, rugs, also happy to throw in fencing, haynets the lot if needed as will be giving up horses.

This fab boy is for sale through no fault of his own, only due to me growing my family and unfortunately no longer having the time for him that he deserves.

Please experienced horse owners/riders only, this isn’t an easy decision for me and want him to go to the right home that will keep him for a long time and is happy to keep me posted on him.

Please no novice riders as I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to ride him for you due to childcare.
