"Harley" Chestnut Gelding Pony Club Pony

Finding Harley the right home is incredibly important to us, so this is a heartbreaking sale and he will only go to the very best of homes.

Harley is a 10-year-old, 14hh Welsh Section D gelding who has been with our family since he was just a yearling. He has helped my daughter grow from a young rider into the confident rider she is today and has been a huge part of our family. The only reason he is looking for a new home is because she has now moved on to a bigger horse.

Harley has three lovely paces and enjoys a varied life. He hacks happily alone and in company, schools well, has attended clinics and fun rides, and is always willing to have a go. He is a genuine, honest pony who has been a fantastic confidence giver. Harley is not a ‘kick-along’ or ‘push-button’ pony – he enjoys his job and goes nicely from the leg, so he does require a rider rather than someone who simply wants to sit there. He is forward-thinking without being silly or strong, has good brakes and is a safe, enjoyable ride.

He has also previously completed a successful year on loan at a riding school, where he proved himself to be kind, reliable and much loved.

Harley has impeccable manners on the ground and absolutely loves attention. He is good to catch, groom, clip, load and travel, and is up to date with his vaccinations, teeth and routine healthcare.

He is barefoot and has been successfully managed this way for several years. Harley is hammer shy, so he is not suitable for shoeing, but this has never affected his ridden career. He is trimmed regularly and happily wears hoof boots when hacking on particularly stony or rocky ground.

Harley would suit a confident child or small adult looking for a genuine all-round pony. He enjoys having a job and would be ideal for someone wanting to hack, school, attend clinics, fun rides and continue building a partnership with a responsive, kind pony. He isn’t a first-ridden or lead-rein type, but for a rider who is ready to progress onto a forward-going yet sensible pony, Harley has so much to offer.

This is an incredibly difficult decision, so finding the right home is far more important than a quick sale. We are happy to answer any questions and will only let Harley go where we truly believe he will be loved as much as he has been with us.
